Gill Bowden

Optometrist (Retired)

Gill has retired from performing eye examinations, but sill helps out within the practice. She has enjoyed working in an environment where service and quality are most important, but is now taking things a little more easy!

Lisa Gunning FBDO CL

Contact Lens Practitioner / Dispensing Optician

After working as an optical receptionist for a number of years Lisa decided to further her career by obtaining qualifications to become a Dispensing Optician. She studied and qualified at Anglian Ruskin University and then furthered her studies qualifying as a contact lens practitioner.  Lisa always prides herself on giving the best advice to every individual to suit their needs in both contact lenses and spectacles.

Tracey Perkins

Optical Receptionist

Tracey joined us in March 2018 and is a real asset, always cheerful, hard working and willing to learn anything new with great enthusiasm.

Tracey has now completed and passed the Optical Assistant course through ABDO (Association of British Dispensing Opticians)and achieved a fantastic result of 90% overall. Tracey is now working hard to further her optical knowledge and learn more about dispensing in general.

Elena Rees

Optometrist Elena studied Optometry at City University in London. Since qualifying in 2003 she has worked in a variety of practices including a year in the Caribbean! She is a member of Vision Aid Overseas and has been on trips to Africa and Eastern Europe to help provide much needed eyecare. After having her daughter Elena re-joined the Sproston & Bowden team in 2017 and is enjoying being a Mum as well as an Optometrist.

Giulia Libardoni McOptom

Optometrist Giulia (pronounced Julia) joined us in 2019 and is enjoying working in a small independent practice. Giulia completed her BSc Optometry degree at City University, London. She has a passion for helping customers with their ongoing eye health, whilst delivering a high level of personal care.

Mandy Edwards

Receptionist Mandy joined us on Friday 13th November 2020, which may have been an unlucky day for some, but fortunately Mandy is not superstitious. Mandy brings a big welcoming smile and friendly face and having been a receptionist at a GP practice has fitted in well with our small friendly team.

Amanda Monkton

Dispensing Assistant Amanda joined us in September 2021 having previously worked for a large multiple opticians for the past 15 years. Amanda is enjoying the freedom of dispensing a wide variety of new frames and lenses and is looking forward to welcoming new & existing customers to our practice.
